Faculty Speaking Engagements

Booking our Faculty

Bring the SPD faculty to your facility or community! Our faculty teaches basic and advanced workshops on SPD as well as the new GOAL Training Workshops all over the world.

Current Travelling Faculty:

Sarah A. Schoen, PhD, OTR

• Dr. Schoen’s honorarium is $4,000 per day
• Reimbursement for travel, hotel, and other per diem expenses is also required

Lucy Jane Miller, PhD, OTR

• Dr. Miller's honorarium is $6,000 per day
• Reimbursement for travel, hotel, and other per diem expenses is also required

General Requirements and Conditions for Hosting a Faculty Speaking Engagement:

• Speaking Engagements in the continental U.S. are typically scheduled at least 6 months in advance, depending on the location and availability of the speaker.
• Events taking place outside of the continental U.S. are typically scheduled at least 1 year in advance, depending on the location and availability of the speaker.
• The schedule of fees required includes:
• A 50% deposit of the speaker’s fee, due within 2 weeks of signing and returning the Letter of Agreement (sent upon finalizing the exact date(s) of the event).
• The remaining 50% of the speaker’s fee is due within 6 weeks of the date of the event.
• Reimbursement for travel expenses can be sent up to 1 month after the event.
• CEUs and/or Certificates of Attendance must be provided by the host organization. The SPD Foundation does not offer CEUs for hosted speaking engagements.

Both Dr. Schoen and Dr. Miller are prepared to address a wide range of topics that relate to SPD, its subtypes, and the sensory aspects of many other childhood developmental disorders, including autistic spectrum disorders, ADHD, and other conditions.

Includes, but is not limited to:

• An introduction of the SPD Subtypes
• An introduction of the STAR Center and STAR Treatment Model
• A review of SPD research
• A review of SPD assessments
• An overview of the principles of treatment
