In this conference, we will explore how sensory response patterns affect everyday life and discover strategies for putting this knowledge to work. Research has shown that there are four general patterns for responding to sensory events. When we understand the impact of these four patterns, it is much easier to help children with Sensory Processing Disorder navigate the activities of the day.
These sensory patterns are present along a spectrum of intensity in the entire population. We also know that people with conditions such as autism, Asperger disorder, ADHD, schizophrenia, and anxiety are more likely to have intense sensory experiences. By understanding the entire continuum, we have the power to make the world a more friendly, sensory place for everyone. Come and learn about the possibilities with us!
Who should attend:
OTs, PTs, SLPs, teachers, school administrators, MDs, psychologists, COTAs, parents, adults with sensory challenges, and others interested in successfully managing sensory events for children
