The effectiveness of two models of OT service in meeting the goals of preschoolers with mild motor delays were compared. Two OTs provided consultation one day per week for 40 weeks of a school year to the teams of 11 children, while another OT provided direct/indirect services for nine children for a full week every three weeks throughout the 40-week school year. All three therapists met with their teams twice a month to discuss progress and complete further planning. All parents completed home programs as well. Goal attainment scaling was used to measure progress. The results found no differences between the methods of intervention suggesting that direct intervention and consultation are equally effective for meeting objectives of students with mild motor delays.
